Their practice of aikido was notable because both of them have handicaps: the woman has problems with one or both of her legs while the man is deaf. I'm glad to see they were able to have a good experience here. They knew the teacher, SAKABE Munetsugu before their visit.http://youtu.be/74wNDsIaJHMAïkido & Handicap by Kumamoto TV 2012-12-30 20:55 JSTRead more about the achitecture, location, and other sites in the area here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kumamoto-i/message/12301 2012-12-28 13:27 JSTIf you're interested in Kumamoto dialect, you may enjoy this. A lot of expressions are introduced with subtitles showing the dialect and equivalent expressions in standard Japanese. There's no English so this video might be a bit difficult for beginners in Japanese but if you've been using Japanese for a while and can read the subtitles it may help you improve your facility in 熊本弁. http://youtu.be/L4iYiNbnJLY大好き!熊本弁 ~奥深き方言の魅力~ 2012-12-26 10:47 JSTHere's a slideshow of beautiful photos taken at the Kyu Hosokawa Gyobutei (旧細川刑部邸) near Kumamoto Castle. Be sure to get there by around 11:30 so you can find the right spot. http://www.asahi.com/national/update/0127/SEB201201270005.html By the way, the newspaper article (Asahi, in Japanese) alludes to the Japanese expression "futamata o kakeru" which means to two-time your lover. The character for "mata" is different, though, so no worries. Here's a link to a map: http://goo.gl/maps/56KQC
