When the quakes hit, the Contemporary Art Museum of Kumamoto had just begun an exhibition of works by M. C. Escher and other artists who incorporated visual illusions in their work (that is, made so-called trick art or trompe-l’oeil). The quakes put that on hold but a recent Facebook post indicates that the exhibition will be held beginning on May 18th:
