Honda’s sole domestic factory for manufacturing two-wheeled vehicles is their facility in Ozu, where they produce larger models, mostly 400cc. They also manufacture abroad, primarily in Vietnam, bikes ranging from 125 to 250cc. These had heretofore been imported via Yokohama and Osaka. However, for risk mitigation (natural disasters) and to be closer to the Kyushu market, Honda will import 6,000 of their 80,000 imported units through Kumamoto Port to be prepared for delivery at their Ozu facility. An opening ceremony was held yesterday for their intake facility. Along with their existing export facility, Honda now accounts for 20% of Kumamoto Port freight. Details at Kumanichi. - William
