There is a temple in Mashiki with the tounge-numbing name Ryūchizan Senkōji (龍池山千光寺), and in that temple is an equally tounge-numbing statue of Senjukan’noubosatsu (千手観音菩薩), or “Bodhisattva of the Thousand Hands” (though a bit of an exaggeration, he does have a lot more hands than most), whose roots go back to Hindu Vishna.
Unfortunately, he fell over in the quakes and broke many of his hands. Fortunately, he has been restored. - William
