Kirk with some news about something that might not sound appetizing but that I’m eager to try – beer made with igusa (the kind of grass used in tatami). Kumamoto is Japan’s leading producer of igusa. In fact, 97% of the igusa used in tatami throughout Japan comes from Kumamoto:

I guess they combined the word “garage,” which reminds me of the fragrance of oil-stained concrete, to make the beer sound more appetizing than just igusa alone might be. ;) Nonetheless, I really am eager to give it a try. :)
