Carlton. Was I the only one surprised at the sound of sirens at a quarter to 3pm today in the city?
For those like me who forgot, they were in remembrance of the great Northeastern earthquake and tsunami which struck 11 years ago to this day at 14:46.
I remember that day well but here we did not experience so much as a wiggle or a ripple although maybe over in Amakusa there was a rise in the sea level that might have been noticed.
