William Today is “castle day” (4/6 - しろく- okay, ya gotta be a castle nerd to get this). Most who visit the castle only see the main keep and its adjacent Ninomaru park. Other areas, particularly to the southwest - head to 三の丸 and venture from there - are quiet, mostly unvisited, eternally evoking the grand aspirations of the castle’s remains. If you’ve time and knees (lotta stairs at varying angles), a walkaround is recommended.
