Carlton. A few days ago here Huy Tran introduced a new pizza place on Shimotori. In the comments someone said they wished there was a place which served Calzone (a kind of folded over and filled pizza), and I found one today. It’s a new place called Pizzazzip: https://mrs.living.jp/kumamoto/km_staff_blog/article/4900014 located at Kuhonji Intersection, where Densha-dori and Sangyo-doro cross, also marked by a 4 way overhead crosswalk. Pizzazzip is easy to see because the storefront is bright yellow.
The young owner/chef used to work in a bakery and I, for one, liked his chewy, doughy fresh crust and simple Calzone filled with maranara sauce and 2 kinds of fresh cheese.
He’s been in business since November.
