Kirk here with a belated report on efforts to “give back” to the people of Turkey who, as you all know, are suffering in the aftermath of a terrible earthquake. In the Japanese video, Governor Kabashima calls donating to Turkish victims “giving back” (恩返し; ongaeshi) because the people of Turkey came to Kumamoto’s aid in 2016.
And, although this article focuses on victims in Turkey, I would never want to forget the victims in Syria.
I think there are many ways in which one might contribute to efforts to help the victims of the quakes in Turkey and Syria. I hope those of you with good information will share what you have (links and other information about how to donate) in comments to this post. Thanks.
