Kirk here. Ubuyama-mura has an exchange program with Thailand. It was put on hold during the pandemic but is up and running again after a four-year hiatus.
By the way, Ubuyama-mura is between Aso and Kuju, southeast of Oguni. If you haven’t been there, it’s a nice place to visit. I’ll append the address of a post William did in October of last year about the Higotai flower, for which Ubuyama-mura is famous.
