I remember that the word he used in Japanese was “認識する” (ninshiki; be or become aware of). I wasn’t there but, from the video, everyone else seemed to be aware of what was going on so why couldn’t he figure out was happening?
But on a more positive side “he said another opportunity would be set up because it was difficult to hear everything at one meeting.” Good. I hope he follows through.
