This video makes the point that one way to support Japan is to come as a tourist. Pray & Act from Kyushu by Kumamoto ESG (Long ver.) Pray for Japan. Act for Japan.

Some of the information that has been exchanged on Kumamoto-i over the last decade has been organized on this page. Kumamoto Links This page provides annotated links to English information about Kumamoto, Japan.
I found this image of Kumamoto Station on eBay. I couldn't find a date but it must have been taken before WWII, as the Japanese is written from right to left, horizontally. The picture presents quite a contrast with the new facilities that have been put in place to prepare for the arrival of the Shinkansen. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=120691240254

Technical note: We've had some more RSS problems but I think that they are resolved now and that everything you see is up-to-date. This time there seems to have been a problem with the Yahoo Kumamoto-i feed itself. I fixed it by running the feed through "Google Reader" as a "bundle," even though its just one feed: http://www.google.com/reader/bundle/user%2F01720285359701720643%2Fbundle%2FKumamoto-i Google Reader - Kumamoto-i
I accidentally disabled RSS Graffiti (the application that takes posts from Kumamoto-i and displays them here) when I removed Social RSS (another, less reliable, RSS application). It is now enabled but, In the meantime, there was an update about shopping for kid's clothes in Kumamoto and a couple of posts about displaying Japanese text in Yahoo Groups. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kumamoto-i/ kumamoto-i : Kumamoto International kumamoto-i: Kumamoto International
A while back I posted about the on-going festival (friday and saturday evenings) in Yamaga. Here's one of the videos I linked to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts_iPy6VbyU
Facebook seems to have updated their "pages" software. I hope that will make this page easier for everyone to use. One advantage for me is that I now have the option to post as myself or as "Kumamoto International."
Technical note: RSS Graffiti seems to be working well. I'm having a harder time with Twitter. I just linked this page to Twitter to see if the results are any better.
I'm still experimenting with ways to get the Kumamoto-i RSS to post to this wall. "Twitterfeed" skipped some posts. "Social RSS" has been worse. Now I'm trying to use "RSS Graffiti." In the meantime, there have been several new posts to Kumamoto-i that have not appeared here. Check the link below to see what you've missed. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kumamoto-i/ kumamoto-i : Kumamoto International kumamoto-i: Kumamoto International
One more question: Are the "twitterfeed" posts (the ones that are being forwarded to "Kumamoto International" on Facebook from the Yahoo Groups site) appearing in your news feeds? There should have been a post called "Re: Kumamoto-i on Facebook" about 20 minutes ago.
Hi everyone! This is Kirk again, probably posting as "Kumamoto International" again. I have a question. After you have click that you "like" this page (thanks to all of you who have done so!) do these updates appear in your "News feed"? I don't see anything in my news feed but perhaps that's because I'm the one who made this page. Thanks in advance!
