This article comments on the Shinkansen ride between Kumamoto and Fukuoka. I would agree that it’s a very comfortable (and, of course, speedy) way to travel. When I travel to Tokyo, I often go by Shinkansen if I can. The ride between Kumamoto and Fukuoka is particularly good.
