That’s good but I’m wondering about how information was communicated in English, if at all. Did any of you receive any notification that wasn’t in Japanese? The one source that I thought might send out such a message was silent – unless I missed something.
I got the following emergency text message on my phone but, on my iPhone at least, it’s not possible to select the text and then paste it in to Google translate. With over 40 years of experience studying and using Japanese, that’s not a problem for this old codger, but it strikes me as rather problematic if that is what everyone is getting, regardless of their linguistic preferences.
