Kirk here with news that Omicron has arrived in Kumamoto. The Kumanichi article says that three people have been identified with the variant. They all have been in the Kansai area recently so they probably got the bug there. I suspect, though, that Omicron is already being transmitted here in Kumamoto, as it is in other parts of Japan. Good reason to mask up and avoid unnecessary risks.
