At the Kumamoto Flower Expo, you can not only enjoy looking at flowers, but also take part in woodworking and bamboo lighting workshops. The bamboo lights workshop’s organizer is ちかけん Chikaken, which makes bamboo lights for Mizuakari and the Christmas Market in Kumamoto. You can make woodwork in the 立田山Tatsutayama area and bamboo lighting in the downtown area. Both are free and you can take what you make home with you. You may make two bamboo lights and one will be displayed at the Kumamoto Flower Expo. The event is held on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
