We are likely to experience a stormy weekend. The typhoon will not be extremely powerful when it arrives but it now seems likely to hit us from the worst possible angle. When a typhoon comes from the east, eastern Kyushu and the Aso mountains buffer the winds for us. When one comes from the west through Amakusa as this one will, we tend to have stronger winds.
