Here’s another typhoon update. The first image indicates that Kumamoto has a less than 50% chance of experiencing tropical storm winds, but I think it’s clear that we will feel the effects of the storm to some extent. The second image indicates when the storm will be closest to Kumamoto. Unfortunately, the times are UTC, which is nine hours behind local time in Japan. In a nutshell, it looks like the storm will be closest to Kumamoto by about Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening.
