Some may have noticed a bit of swaying at 9:16 this morning. That would have been due to a M5.4 quake off the coast of Miyazaki. A long-running concern has been the possibility of a large quake on the Nankai trough causing a tsunami on Kyushu’s eastern coast. The Kumamoto prefectural government has plans prepared to care for an influx of refugees in that eventuality.
