I think this is probably a temporary promotion; once they can bring back a substantial flow of tourists they may end this nice deal and go back to requiring guaranteed rental of entire boats.I was part of a group that rented a boat many years ago. Sadly the exhibition ends on the eighth, but if you are near Shinmachi and want to see, among other things, "oni" playing rugby, I highly recommend dropping by.
