Kumamoto apparently has a Newspaper Museum located near Shimotori sponsered by the Kumanichi (map at the link)! They are currently holding an exhibition of photographs from the series of quakes which has been extended to September 24 (the exhibition, not the quakes - those will probably continue much longer).
